We had a futon that was awkward to convert from a couch to a bed and was not that comfortable for guests. My wife wanted a trundle bed. I was skeptical imagining them to flimsy and equally uncomfortable. The reviews for this Hi-Riser suggested otherwise. They were right. Both beds are substantial and quite comfortable as guest beds. My one quibble: releasing and collapsing the second bed can be a little stiff, but it's a minor inconvenience not a serious problem.
